"Best advice I received was to figure out how I actually like my things to sound and look. To focus less on what sounds good according to theory, or rules, but what sounds good to me.
It’s hard to figure out what we actually like in a world where we are surrounded by tons of other music and art and rules on “how to make it sound/look good”, and it might seem easier to “make it” if we conform to these.
But finding what one truly enjoys is the first step towards creating a consistent project that describes you as a oerson, that really allows you to express yourself".
